Longtime Metroid series director Yoshio Sakamoto has categorically denied that Metroid: new M is the same game as Metroid Dread, a gangling-rumored side-scrolling game in the Metroid series.What fueled that speculation is that apparently, alternative M was truly conceived way back in 2006. mid a Metroid interview yesterday with Sakamoto and Team Ninja producer Yosuke Hayashi, Kotaku asked if there was any relation betwixt the two games.
